At Ching Mo, we believe martial arts is for everyone regardless of age, fitness level or experience. Our diverse programme of classes caters for children as young as five through to adults of all ages.

Kung Fu
Kung Fu (ååĪŦ) is one of the world's oldest and most comprehensive martial art systems, encompassing hundreds of styles and techniques developed over thousands of years.
At Ching Mo, our Kung Fu syllabus draws from the rich tradition of Chinese martial arts, covering striking, kicking, grappling, traditional forms (kata), weapons training and controlled sparring. Training develops strength, flexibility, speed, coordination and mental focus simultaneously.

Tai Chi
Tai Chi Chuan (åĪŠæĨĩæģ) is an ancient internal martial art renowned worldwide for its profound health benefits, meditative quality and subtle yet powerful combat application.
Our Tai Chi classes teach authentic traditional forms alongside push hands practice, breathing exercises and Qigong. Whether you are seeking to improve your health, manage stress, enhance your balance, or explore the martial aspects, our classes offer a complete and deeply rewarding practice.

Wing Chun
Wing Chun (čĐ æĨ) is a highly practical and efficient style of Chinese martial arts that emphasises economy of movement, simultaneous defence and attack, and superior positioning over brute strength.
Developed by and for people of all builds and physical strengths, Wing Chun is famous for its centerline theory, chain punching, sensitivity training (Chi Sao) and devastating close-range effectiveness. It is a style that rewards intelligent training and continuous refinement.

Self Defence
Our Self Defence classes focus on practical, real-world techniques that work for people of any size, age or fitness level â no martial arts experience required.
Drawing from multiple disciplines including Kung Fu, Wing Chun and street-applicable techniques, you will learn how to be more aware of your environment, de-escalate confrontations and defend yourself effectively if the need ever arises. Confidence, not aggression, is the goal.
No experience needed. This class is designed for people with zero martial arts background. Come as you are.

Children's Classes
Our junior programme introduces children aged 5 to 12 to the wonderful world of martial arts in a structured, fun and encouraging environment.
Children learn discipline, respect, focus and physical skills that benefit them in every area of life â from school performance to social confidence. All classes are age-appropriate, safe and led by instructors experienced in working with young people. Parents are always welcome to watch.

Absolutely not. All of our classes welcome complete beginners. Our instructors will guide you through everything from scratch at a pace that suits you. Everyone starts somewhere, and we pride ourselves on making newcomers feel welcome from day one.
We welcome students from the age of 5 upwards. Children aged 5â12 join our dedicated Junior Programme, while students aged 12 and above can join our adult classes. We also have many students in their 60s, 70s and beyond â it is never too late to start!
For your first class, comfortable sports clothing is perfectly fine â jogging bottoms, a t-shirt and bare feet or thin-soled trainers. No specialist uniform or equipment is required until you decide to train regularly, at which point we will advise you on the appropriate training suit.

Yes. All of our instructors are fully qualified, experienced practitioners with many years of training and teaching experience. All instructors working with children hold current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks and are first aid trained. Your safety is our top priority.
